Mr. Bernard M. Grayson, Jr., is a proud Firebird who has represented the University in various capacities. As a student at the University of the District of Columbia, Mr. Grayson remained socially active, and strived to provide knowledge and leadership to the student body. He has served as the President of the Undergraduate Student Government Association, Vice-President of the School of Business and Public Administration’s Business Management Association, Secretary of the American Humanics Student Association, and twice held the position of Treasurer of the Senior Class. Mr. Grayson also served as a member of the Firebird II Investment Club and has participated in the School of Business and Public Administration’s student advisory committee. Mr. Grayson is an active member of the University of the District of Columbia National Alumni Society (UDCNAS), in which he has been a lifetime member since 2008; he has served as Sergeant of Arms of UDCNAS from 2014 – 2019; in addition, he served as the UDCNAS liaison for UDC Alumni Affairs from 2018 – 2020. Bernard is also the UDCNAS Chapter representative for the DC Metro HBCU Alumni Alliance.
Mildred L. Musgrove, Ed.D.

Mildred L. Musgrove (Nee: Satterwhite) is a retired DC Public School educator. She has held the following positions: senior high school teacher, curriculum writer-in-residence, instructional supervisor, principal (elementary and senior high), assistant superintendent, Chief of Staff, and Chief Academic Officer. She also has held positions at the American University and the University of the District of Columbia as adjunct professor. She remains active in professional organizations: Senior High Alliance of Parents, Principals, and Educators (founding member); 21st Century School Fund Board of Directors; the American University Chapter of Phi Delta Kappa; DC Retired Educators Association; and CHANCE Academy Board of Directors. She received her B.S. degree in English from the DC Teachers College (UDC), her M.A. degree in English from Trinity College, and her Ed.D., Administration and Curriculum, from the George Washington University. Ms. Musgrove is a member of the Alpha Kappa Sorority, Inc., Rho Mu Omega Chapter.
Barrington D. Scott

Barrington D. Scott is an immediate past alumni representative to UDC’s Board of Trustees. In this stead, Mr. Scott worked collaboratively with board members, University leadership, faculty, and students to restore UDC’s Nursing and Mortuary Science Programs accreditation; reactivate the student branch of the NAACP, recruiting and obtaining approval for 50 students to attend the organization’s national convention; provide pay increases for professors and tenured staff; foster relationships with DC area high school counselors; and regain the confidence of Mayor Muriel Bowser and the City Council, resulting in funding to reacquire the Fannie Mae building at 4250 Connecticut Avenue NW. He created the Academic Excellence Award, and raised money to recognize the brightest 10 graduating seniors, and he frequently donates to UDC —— most recently supporting UDC’s Emergency Student COVID-19 Fund. He is the recipient of the UDC 2017 PathMakers Award, and was inducted into the 2019 Class of UDC Athletic Sports Hall of Fame.
Mr. Scott is a life member of the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.; NAACP; Ancient Egyptian Arabic Order Nobles of the Mystic Shrine of North and South America and Jurisdictions, Inc.; and the United Supreme Council-Grand Inspector General of the 33rd and last degree. He has one son and 5 grandchildren, and currently serves as a faithful member and deacon at the City of Praise Family Ministries in Landover, Maryland.
Anntoinette “Toni” White-Richardson
1995, M.A., Adult Education

Since graduating from the University of the District of Columbia with a Master’s of Arts in Adult Education, I have been highly active in numerous community-based organizations focused on improving the lives of D.C. residents, and the cultural enrichment of my city. I am currently employed by the DC Public Library as an Education Specialist in the Adult Literacy Resource Center. I am a life member of the Alumni Society, and I have been working with the Alumni Society for the past 10 years, by supporting their programs and projects. These projects and programs included toy drives, meet and greets, awards dinners, and membership meetings. In addition, I have participated and supported homecoming activities such as plaza events, homecoming coronations, and concerts.
Over the years I have served in many leadership positions with several organizations:
- President – Delta Housing Corporation of the District of Columbia (2016- 2020) Affordable housing for seniors.
- President – Washington DC Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Inc. (2006- 2008)
- President – AFSCME District Council 20 (2014- 2017) & AFSCME Local 1808 (2003-2019)
- Cochair – DC One Fund Campaign (2012- 2015) Raised over 2 million dollars.
- Taskforce Member – Negotiated Employee Assistance Home Purchase Program (NEAHP) – Provides funding for unionized city employees to purchase homes in the city.
- Vice President – Woodlawn Cemetery Perpetual Care Association (2016- 2020) Historical preservation.
- Board Member -The Essential Theatre (2017 – Present).
As a native Washingtonian involved in various organizations, I have the tenacity to bring a plethora of community connections that will elevate alumni participation and fundraising for the University.
