The DAWN rethinks public education to produce more business-ready talent than it loses by: (a) exploring different ways to identify talent besides high-stakes standardized assessments, (b) closing the “achievement” gap, and (c) reimagining the learning process so that it better refines the talents of economically disadvantaged and minority students.
Academic, discipline-based research is key to the university’s mission and the region’s resiliency. Interdisciplinary research centers expand on that mission by addressing social issues and new learning from multiple perspectives.
An emergency assistance fund for UDC undergraduate students who experience unexpected, short-term hardships due to COVID-19 or other dire circumstances that may derail or delay their academic progress.
An endowment fund of $50,000 or more that exists in perpetuity to support student scholarships or University programs of the donor’s choosing.
A donor-customized current use scholarship fund of $25,000 or more.

All students are required to apply for a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FIFSA} each year that they are UDC students prior to submitting scholarship applications.
