The Office of Public Safety & Emergency Management is firmly committed to ensuring that our campus is a safe and healthy academic community where students, faculty, staff and guests can take full advantage of the educational and many other opportunities that the University has to offer. The Office of Public Safety & Emergency Management is a professional multi-service agency providing law enforcement, security, crime prevention and environmental health and emergency services on campus 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We are responsible for campus policing, parking and its enforcement, emergency management and environmental health and safety. It is our belief that a safe campus environment can only be achieved by "Working Together for Safety" with all segments of the campus community. Each member of our Office is firmly committed to working with you to help ensure that you are safe and secure while on campus. Together, as partners, we can and will continue to reduce environmental hazards and risks, crime and the fear of crime and disorder in our community.
Maintaining a safe campus environment requires a sustained partnership between the members of the campus community and the Office of Public Safety & Emergency Management. This partnership requires continued communication and "ownership" in a common philosophy predicated on the idea that campus safety must be embraced by each of us individually and collectively as a community.
The Public Safety and Emergency Management website is designed to inform, advise and alert the campus community of the current public safety programs, policies and procedures related to crime reporting and awareness here at the University of the District of Columbia. Please take time to familiarize yourself with the resources available to you as we work together for safety.
On behalf of our Office, we thank you for your efforts towards building enhanced communication and partnerships over the past year.
