Homeland Security Program at UDC

Do you have a passion to serve your community, country or the world?” With faculty conducting research in terrorism, cybersecurity, emergency management, and community resilience the Homeland Security program offers students an opportunity to design a program tailored around their interests based on a core foundation in the subject area. We offer small classes and an opportunity for mentorships. Included among our faculty are professionals, working in the field, who bring first-person accounts and real-world content to their classes.

What’s Happening within Graduate Programs
The CSIT Department has a graduate program in computer science which leads to the Master of Science in Computer Science (MSCS) degree. The MSCS program is tailored to meet the needs of traditional domestic and international students as well as working professionals in the greater Washington DC area. The program emphasizes a practitioner-oriented curriculum which includes the study of advanced algorithms, network security, artificial intelligence, visual analytics, digital image processing, big data analytics, and database designs. Our expert instructors provide cutting-edge solutions to real-world challenges in a wide range of career tracks to make you lead to positions in research institutions, government agencies, technology companies.
The Speech – Language Pathology Master of Science Program and its student organization, the National Student Speech-Language-Hearing Association (NSSLHA) – UDC Chapter, has been awarded Bronze status for its distinguished service to the profession in 2014. UDC NSSLHA president, Nicole Caputi, was further recognized as Distinguished Student of Service to the Profession and elected student delegate for Region 5 by the NSSLHA Executive Board at the November 2014 American Speech – Language – Hearing Association (ASHA) Convention in Orlando, Florida. In addition, UDC NSSLHA Chapter has won 2nd place in the Charge Up Your Chapter T-shirt Design contest and was awarded a prize of $500. The UDC SLP Graduate Program is making a difference in its community and in the Profession.

The priority deadlines for admissions are November 15 for Spring entry; April 1 for Summer; and June 15 for Fall. Applications received after the deadlines are considered by the program on a space-available basis.
