Please join us on Wednesday, March 24, at 2:00 pm, for the next presentation in the Chemistry Speaker Series: “Lab to Law,” featuring Dr. Brittany Butler, Contracts Manager at Atomwise Inc. Atomwise is a Bay Area-based biotech company that utilizes artificial intelligence and machine learning for structure-based drug discovery and development. About Dr. Butler

Brittany Butler, Ph.D., is currently a Contracts Manager with Atomwise Inc., a Bay Area-based biotech company that utilizes artificial intelligence and machine learning for structure-based drug discovery and development.  She graduated from the University of Missouri at Kansas City with a dual degree in Biological Sciences and Chemistry.  She earned her Ph.D. in Medical Sciences with an emphasis in Neuroscience from The University of Florida, where her doctoral research focused on the regulation of dopaminergic signaling associated with Parkinson’s Disease and psychostimulant abuse. After obtaining her Ph.D., she earned a Master of Science in Patent Law from The University of Notre Dame. Currently, she is a 3rd-year law student at Chicago-Kent College of Law in Chicago, IL, and after graduation plans to continue her focus on intellectual property and contract law. Prior to joining Atomwise, Dr. Butler worked at The University of Chicago’s Polsky Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation as a Senior Manager of Business Development and Licensing, and as a Patent Agent at the law firm of McDonnell Boehnen Hulbert & Berghoff (MBHB) in downtown Chicago.
