Race, Gender, and COVID 19

Implications for Social Work Practice

Covid-19 has been referred to as the “equalizer” although recent data suggests otherwise. The existing inequalities in employment, housing, healthcare, and economics have been amplified and women of color are disproportionately impacted by these realities. Women of color are most likely to be impacted by the housing crisis, most likely to face food insecurity, and most likely to remain unemployed. This symposium will examine the intersection of race, gender, and Covid-19 and implications for practice on the micro, mezzo, and macro levels. (4 CEU credits available)
