What is technology commercialization?

Technology commercialization is the process of transitioning technologies from the research lab to the marketplace. This activity is complementary to the process of publishing research findings. Five phases guide the new product development process: idea generation, screening, concept development, product development, and, finally, commercialization.


Commercialization of research provides new products and services that can be used to solve some of life’s most pressing problems.
