On August 30, the 19th Annual DC Jazz Festival kicked off with a host of performances and events spanning five days in the District. President Edington stopped by the House of Sweden in Georgetown on opening night for performances that included award-winning, DC-based trio The String Queens. In downtown DC, Allyn Johnson—an accomplished jazz pianist, UDC alum and associate professor with its music program—led the JazzDC All-Stars in a lively concert at Eaton DC.
