Crime, Justice and Securities Study Program students win DHS competitions

The UDC Crime, Justice and Securities Study Program Hackathon Team won 1st place in one category ($10,000 prize shared among four students) and 3rd place in another category ($2,500 student prize shared among five students) in the 3-Day Designing Actionable Solutions for a Secure Homeland (DASSH) student design challenge hosted by the Center for Accelerating Operational Efficient (CAOE) and Soft Target Engineering to Neutralize the Threat Reality (SENTRY), two Department of Homeland Security Centers of Excellence. The competition was held from February 23-26, and there were 23 teams spread across the three competition problem areas. Nine undergraduate administration of justice majors and five Homeland Security majors from UDC participated.
