On October 21, 2022, the College of Agriculture, Urban Sustainability and Environmental Sciences (CAUSES) hosted 80 youth from Ron Brown Public Charter High School, Friendship Collegiate Public Charter School, and Anacostia High School at the University’s Firebird Research Farm. The open house provided an opportunity for students to explore the operation of a research farm and to engage in experiential STEM activities with CAUSES land grant staff. On hand to support the event were representatives from USDA, ESRI and the UDC Board of Trustees. A contingent of UDC Master Gardeners and community stakeholders also participated.
