UDC’s School of Business and Public Administration partners with IRS in free annual tax clinic

Free tax assistance is available to individuals and families who need help with tax return preparation. The UDC Van Ness campus is a Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) site. This program offers free tax help to D.C. residents who make $53,000 or less, persons with disabilities, elderly residents, and limited English-speaking taxpayers who need assistance in preparing their tax returns. Do you need help with your income tax return preparation? If so, visit the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) site on the Van Ness campus.

UDC’s VITA program offers free tax help to people who make $53,000 or less, persons with disabilities, elderly residents and limited English-speaking taxpayers who need aid. IRS-certified volunteers are supervised on-site to help residents with their tax forms, including health insurance tax provisions required by the Affordable Care Act.

Come out and get your questions answered about Earned Income Tax allowances, homebuyer tax credit, Child Tax Credit, the Credit for the Elderly or the Disabled and other refundable tax credits for which you may be eligible.

If you are interested, don’t hesitate to get in touch with the clinic for an appointment or to inquire about drop-off services. The tax clinic runs from February 5 to April 16.
