VITA Tax Clinic
Individuals and families who need help with income tax return preparation can visit the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) site on the Van Ness campus. UDC’s VITA program offers free tax help to people who generally make $53,000 or less, persons with disabilities, elderly residents, and limited English speaking taxpayers who need assistance in preparing their own tax returns. IRS-certified volunteers are supervised on site to help residents with their tax forms, including health insurance tax provisions required by the Affordable Care Act.
Residents are encouraged to come out and get their questions answered about Earned Income Tax allowances, homebuyer tax credit, Child Tax Credit, the Credit for the Elderly or the Disabled, and other refundable tax credits for which you they may be eligible.
The Tax Clinic runs through February 4th – April 15th with drop-off and pick-up services Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. appointment only. The Clinic is located at 4200 Connecticut Avenue, NW, Washington, DC 20008 in Building 38, 3rd Floor, Room 305.
