UDC mathematics professor releases empowering ‘NO’ music video

Dr. Peter Plourde, associate professor of mathematics, also known as, “Professor Lyrical,” has released a music video for his new single “NO.” The song showcases his struggles and triumphs juxtaposed with the struggles of a student pursuing his passions for basketball and spoken-word poetry, while also trying to “keep his head up” academically. The video, which was filmed at the Bertie Backus Community College Campus, follows Plourde and Christian “C-Steeze” Sutton, a UDC transfer student and recent alum, trying to maintain during adversity faced as scholars, practitioners, professionals, athletes and artists. The video also includes cameos from colleagues Professor Albert Pearsall and Dr. Emanuel Maurice “Moe” Yeoman. “NO” is produced by Jay Johnson and distributed by Sony Orchard via Family and Friends/Freedom Corner Brand/D.i.M.E.
