Workforce Development launches loaner laptop program

Woman student on laptopUDC’s Division of Workforce Development & Lifelong Learning (WDLL) initiated a laptop loaner program for the spring 2023 term to address WDLL students’ achievement of their academic and career goals by removing barriers to technology. As a special incentive to kick off the program, the first 100 students to apply for a laptop loaner were entered into WDLL’s loan-to-own laptop program.

This program is made possible by WDLL’s partnership with Wilderness Technologies (WildTech) and Lou August, Wildtech’s executive director, who provided 100 refurbished laptops to WDLL students. Wildtech is a non-profit organization whose key objective is “empowering the disadvantaged through computer access, training and support since 1995.”
