UDC student leaders attended the Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TCMF) Annual Leadership Institute conference in New York City from September 28, to October 1. Several received promising internship and job offers, including Anthony Olweny, Ayoub Mouchtahi, Elias Carson, Imani Roberson, Steffi Graham and Elrashid Bushra, who have accepted positions. The job offers came from companies including Apple, Caterpillar, Deloitte, JP Morgan, Cisco, ServiceNow, Eli Lilly, Honda, Sam’s Club, Vanguard and John Deere.

Now in its 22nd year, the Institute is a national program intended to develop HBCU students’ leadership skills, create a community of scholars, provide companies access to a talented and diverse student population, and help students make connections that lead to careers.

Chief Student Development & Success Officer Dr. William Latham said that the job offers are a huge accomplishment for UDC and reflect our students’ skill level and readiness for careers.

Executive Director of Career Services Dr. Jared Moffett commented that scholars have demonstrated professional grit to obtain their career opportunities and will help to forge pathways for other UDC students to join them at these companies.

“I am especially grateful to the Office of Career Services’ team for their hard work in supporting the students and TMCF partnership,” he said.
