Women’s Tennis student-athlete wins Rookie of the Week for fourth time

On October 17, the East Coast Conference (ECC) recognized two UDC Women’s Tennis players.

Simoné Pärn, a graduate student from Pärnu, Estonia, was chosen as Player of the Week. Pärn went a perfect 4-0 on the week to keep a perfect record in conference play in both singles and doubles. All of her wins came at the No. 1 position, including singles victories over Daemen’s Frida Rubio (6-3, 6-2) and D’Youville’s Yulia Kashtellian (6-2, 6-0).

Célia Bastin, a freshman from Dinant, Belgium, was chosen as Rookie of the Week. Bastin went a perfect 4-0 on the week. She did not lose a game against her opponents in singles play at the No. 4 and No. 5 positions to keep a perfect 3-0 record in conference play. She also went 2-0 on the week in doubles at the No.2 position.
