UDC Counseling and Wellness Center Director elected to AUCCCD

 

Serena Butler-JohnsonDr. Serena Butler-Johnson was elected to the Association for University and College Counseling Center Directors (AUCCCD) Board on October 11 at the AUCCCD annual conference in Philadelphia, PA attended by over 430 university counseling center directors. AUCCCD is the international organization for counseling center directors comprised of over 900 universities and colleges from the United States, Canada, Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Australia. AUCCCD promotes college student mental health awareness through research, dissemination of key campus mental health issues and trends, and related training and education, with special attention to issues of social justice and inclusive excellence.

Dr. Butler-Johnson was selected to serve a three-year term, and will support efforts to reach students from underserved populations and first-generation college students, as well as pursuing work and training that explores approaches to decolonizing mental health treatment and how that can be manifested in individual, group, and systemic work in counseling centers and universities.
