Counseling and Accessibility Resource Center

MISSION

The mission of the Counseling and Accessibility Resource Center is to provide confidential counseling and disability services that accommodate and serve the emotional, psychological, and physical needs of UDC-CC students.

SERVICES

The Counseling and Accessibility Resource Center provides two components of service:

  • Counseling Services

We provide support and referral services to students in the form of individual counseling, crisis intervention, workshops, and events for UDC-CC students dealing with transitions in life, stress, self-esteem, grief/loss/trauma, emotional/mental problems, relationship/family problems, addiction and substance abuse. These areas are a summary of the services we provide; however, students should contact us for questions regarding services that directly relate to the individual.

The Counseling Process & Confidentiality

We welcome students to utilize our services. The first step to receiving the Counseling and Accessibility Resource Center’s counseling services is to speak with a Counseling and Accessibility Resource Center Counselor. A UDC-CC student’s initial appointment will be a consultation and/or an intake. The role of counseling and the confines of confidentiality will also be discussed at the student’s initial appointment. It is then the student’s decision, during or after the appointment, whether to continue receiving services from OCDS. Information shared with a Counseling and Accessibility Resource Center Counselor will be kept in strict confidence.
