UDC Operating Remotely on Friday, Jan. 30

The University of the District of Columbia’s academic and administrative offices will conduct business remotely on Friday, Jan. 30. All on-campus activities, including athletic-related activities, are cancelled.

Campuses will reopen on Monday, Feb. 2.

Staff: Contact your immediate supervisor with questions or for further instruction regarding remote work expectations. 

Faculty: Reach out to your immediate supervisor and/or the dean for questions and further instruction regarding the transition to emergency remote instruction (ERI).  The Center for the Advancement of Learning (CAL) is available to support faculty with instructional continuity, including support for Blackboard, Zoom, Webex and other teaching and learning technologies.

Students: Due to inclement weather, the university will be closed to face-to-face operations. Instruction will be moved to emergency remote, including synchronous and asynchronous methods. Certain laboratory, clinical, and other hands-on classes for which in-person instruction is a requirement may necessitate a make-up lesson, but every effort will be made to pursue virtual learning to the extent possible. Where synchronous virtual instruction is intended, published class meeting times must be observed so that students’ schedules are not disrupted.

The safety and security of our students, faculty, staff, and the broader community remain our top priority. We will continue to provide updates regarding the status of the university’s academic and administrative offices as conditions change.

Tracey G. Jackson, Ph.D., J.D.

Tracey G. JacksonTracey G. Jackson is a respected attorney, public policy expert and executive coach whose career spans law, legislation, leadership development and civic service. A military upbringing instilled in her a deep sense of discipline, adaptability and service—qualities that continue to shape her impact across the public and private sectors.

She currently serves as Supervisory Hearing Examiner for the District of Columbia Department of Motor Vehicles, where she leads fair, process-driven adjudications. Her previous work as Committee Director for the Council of the District of Columbia—overseeing legislation, agency oversight, and youth-centered initiatives—further reflects her dedication to effective governance and community well-being.

Jackson is the founder and president of Limitless Growth Solutions Corp. and Jackson’s Jewels, where she equips professionals and organizations with actionable strategies for growth using her signature U-Centric™ Coaching Model. She is a sought-after consultant, speaker, and mentor in executive development, particularly for high-achieving women in law, government and leadership.

Her educational achievements include a Ph.D. in Public Policy & Administration (Social Welfare Policy) from Virginia Commonwealth University, a Juris Doctor from UDC David A. Clarke School of Law, and dual degrees in Political Science (BA/MA) from Fayetteville State University. She also served as Student Bar President during her time at UDC Law.

Jackson’s civic influence is equally notable. She is:

  • Immediate Past President of the GWAC (Women’s Lawyers Division of the National Bar Association)
    Chair of the GWAC Foundation
  • A member of the National VCU Alumni Council and current University of the District of Columbia Board of Trustees
  • A 2021 Top Ten Business Woman (ABWA) and 2024-2025 Diversity Scholar (National Conference of Bar Presidents)

She is proudly affiliated with Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., the National Lawyers Guild, the Improved Benevolent Protective Order of Elks of the World, and the American Business Women’s Association.

A graduate of the Iconic Woman Mastermind, Jackson is passionate about mentoring women who lead with purpose, clarity and compassion. Outside of work, she enjoys travel, family time and curating moments of personal fulfillment.
