Member of the Board of Trustees
Bisi Oyedele
Bisi became the chief executive officer of Education Forward DC in September 2022, after more than five years leading the organization’s grantmaking and grantee support work as managing partner.
A first-generation immigrant and English language learner, Bisi believes strongly in the transformative power of a high-quality public education. That belief guided his decision to join Education Forward DC, which works to support the development of a public school system that meets the needs of students and families.
Before joining the organization in 2017, Bisi served as leadership effectiveness director at the Lynch Leadership Academy at Boston College, where he coached and supported district, charter and Catholic school leaders in Boston and the surrounding area.
Earlier in his career, Bisi was executive director of Match Charter Public High School and principal of Nativity Preparatory School, both in Boston. He began his career as a history and English teacher and also worked as a substitute teacher in Boston Public Schools.
Bisi holds a bachelor’s degree in political science, a master’s in curriculum and instruction, and a doctorate in education administration, all from Boston College.
He lives in the Brightwood/Manor Park neighborhood with his wife and two children, who attend D.C. public schools.
