General Guidelines
- Residents must obtain permission from roommates and suitemates before inviting guests.
- Hosts are responsible for their guests’ conduct at all times and must escort them throughout the building.
- All guests must enter and exit through the main entrance, sign in at the front desk or security station, and present a government-issued photo ID.
Overnight Guests
- Residents may host up to two overnight guests at a time.
- Overnight stays require prior approval from all roommates and suitemates.
- Guests may stay a maximum of three consecutive nights or up to eight nights per month, per resident.
Daytime Visitors
- Up to three visitors are allowed in a residential unit at any one time, depending on building policy.
- Residents must remain with their guests at all times in public or common areas.
Restricted Guest Periods
- Overnight guests are not permitted during break periods, exam days or other specified times unless approved.
- Guest access may be prohibited during interim housing periods, such as summer or between semesters.
Additional Rules and Liability
- Hosts must ensure guests follow all housing and community guidelines, including quiet hours, prohibition of illicit substances, and respect for shared spaces.
- Guests who violate policies may be removed and banned from housing. Hosts may face disciplinary action.
- Hosts are liable for any damage caused by their guests and may be subject to fines.
Tips for Smooth Hosting
- Communicate with your roommates—use a shared calendar or group chat to note guest visits.
- Get consent in advance and send reminders via cards or digital notifications.
- Check in guests properly at the front desk and do not allow anyone to piggyback through doors.
- Reserve guest privileges for respectful visits, and be courteous—clean up after your guests.
