Ahead of the winter weather storm, Mayor Muriel Bowser declared a State of Emergency for the District beginning Friday, Jan 23. Mayor Bowser also declared a snow emergency that will go into Saturday, Jan. 24, and will stay in effect until 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 27.

All administrative and academic offices within the University of the District of Columbia will be closed effective 5 p.m. EST on Friday, Jan. 23, until 9:30 a.m. EST on Tuesday, Jan. 27.

The safety and security of our students, faculty, staff and the broader community remain our top priority. We will continue to provide updates regarding the status of the university’s administrative and academic offices as conditions change.

Amazon Selects UDC for Career Choice Program

Amazon’s Career Choice program

UDC has been selected as an educational partner for Amazon’s Career Choice program, providing more than 5,000 Amazon hourly employees access to UDC’s more than 50 associate and bachelor’s degree programs. Amazon’s Career Choice program is an educational benefit that empowers employees to learn new skills for career success at Amazon or elsewhere. The program meets individual learners where they are on their academic journey with various educational and upskilling opportunities, including pre-paid college tuition and industry certifications designed to prepare students for in-demand jobs. The program also ensures foundational mastery leading to higher rates of high school and GED completion, as well as improved English language proficiency.
