Seen in the Community – Anacostia High School Students to Tackle Environmental Justice During Internship with UDC, Interior Department

Supported through UDC’s DAWN Initiative, students from Anacostia High School have embarked on a six-week internship collaborative project between the University of the District of Columbia and the Department of the Interior (DOI). The program runs from June 26 to August 4. Students will learn the strengths of their community and will present their findings to the DOI at the end of the program. The program will focus on environmental justice, what the Anacostia community is already doing to address it, and what additional steps are needed. They will also explore career opportunities within the Department of Interior and outside of it.
