If you have an admission hold for your final high school transcript, please contact your high school immediately and ask that your final high school transcript (graduation date/school official signature) is emailed to the Office of Admission at udctranscores@udc.edu. If you have any questions, please contact the Office of Admission at 202-274-5261.

Sign-Up and Complete the Accuplacer Placement Test (Lamond-Riggs Students Only):

Students entering the Community College must take the ACCUPLACEAR exam for proper placement of their math and English courses. Please register for your exam date before setting up your advising appointment.

Things you can do AFTER attending Orientation & Registration:

Update Residency Status, if applicable

Do you live in Washington, DC, Maryland, or Virginia? If yes, establish your residency to receive the appropriate tuition and fee rates. Residency is established for persons who has, or a dependent person whose parent or legal guardian has, maintained legal residency in Washington, DC, Maryland, or Virginia for 90 days prior to the first day of classes of the term in which they were admitted.

To qualify for residency as a DC, Maryland, or Virginia student, you must submit a copy of your ID listing your permanent address; moreover, an additional document must be presented that further proves your permanent address is located in DC, Maryland, or Virginia – a full list of acceptable documents can be found on our residency website. If you are a recent DC Public or Metro Area public high school graduate, current DCPS/Charter dual enrollment high school student, current DC government employee, eligible non-citizen (asylee, refugee, or permanent resident), or Dreamer living in the District, please refer to the “Special populations” area of the residency website for additional guidance.

Please note: Living in or attending school in Washington, DC, Maryland, or Virginia will not solely establish legal residency. Students who are dependents of out-of-state parents will be recognized as students living in the same state in which their parents reside.

For students to receive DC or Metro residency tuition and fee rates, they must establish residency by submitting the appropriate documentation and a completed residency application to residency@udc.edu.

If you fail to establish residency, you will be considered out-of-state and charged the “Non-Resident” tuition rate. Furthermore, if you have already submitted your residency documents, please allow 10 business days for your request to be evaluated.

Complete Your FAFSA

Complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by visiting www.fafsa.gov. If you need assistance, contact our community partner, The Educational Opportunity Center, and schedule an appointment 202-741-4730. Note: Please leave a voice mail message, and a representative will return your call.

If you have completed your FAFSA and need to check your status, please call 202-274-5157 or send an email to finaid@udc.edu for assistance.
