Business Management - BBA

In this program, you'll learn management concepts, techniques and approaches in relation to the leadership and operation of small, medium, large and even global enterprises. Instruction will focus on planning, organizing, decision-making, human resource management, leadership, operations management and international business.

While many of our courses—like those covering leadership and decision-making—are not typically included in an undergraduate-level business administration program, it's important to us that your skillset after graduation is aligned with the needs and expectations of the business world.

To qualify for graduation in our B.B.A management program, you will be required to complete 121 credit hours, which include:

• 33 credits in major requirements
• 37 general education requirements
• 51 credits in ancillary requirements and electives

In addition to our bachelor's program, our department also offers a Certificate of Entrepreneurship.

In 2011, UDC placed fifth at the annual Opportunity Funding Corporation's Venture Challenge business plan competition in Atlanta, and we would love to see you there this year! We also encourage you to enroll in the internship/practicum class to gain additional work experience. 

When pursuing the Marketing Concentration at UDC, you will learn to:

• Explain the importance of the consumer for the firm, both as individuals and as members of groups, and how consumers make consumption decisions.
• Demonstrate competence in designing research, collecting and analyzing data and reporting the research results.
• Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of how various communication tools interact to form effective campaigns.
• Identify and understand various components of a marketing campaign.
• Understand the importance of culture in designing and implementing successful international campaigns.

When pursuing the Management Information Systems Concentration at UDC, you will learn to:

• Understand the principles and concepts pertinent to information technology.
• Apply creative thinking skills and system design methods in developing information technology-based systems. 
• Understand the human, organizational and technical issues involved in implementing information technology-based systems and the challenges inherent to change.
• Develop teamwork skills that foster cooperation among organizational units and disciplines.
• Be aware of and able to deal with ethical and societal implications of current and future applications of information technology.

When pursuing the LIT concentration at UDC, you should be able to:

• Understand the concepts of supply chain management, logistics and international trade.
• Recognize the key drivers of logistics and supply chain performance: facility, inventory, logistics, transportation, sourcing, information and pricing. 
• Appreciate latest trends in technology (including artificial intelligence and robotics) and their influences on supply chain management.
• Understand the various processes requiring integration along the supply chain using hands-on working experience on ERP software such as SAP.
• Appreciate global cross-cultural differences in business innovations, entrepreneurship and design thinking by participating in an optional summer study abroad program at Nottingham Trent University in UK or another such partner University.
