Office of The General Counsel

The Office of General Counsel (OGC) is UDC’s chief legal counsel and represents the university and its Board of Trustees by:

  • Providing high-quality legal advice to protect the board and the university from legal risks and compliance pitfalls
  • Coordinating judicial representation for the university and board
  • Providing dynamic, responsive, and creative solutions to the university’s legal issues.

The office represents the university’s four main campus locations in matters before District and federal Courts and agencies and advises all managers on a wide range of legal issues that arise on university campuses. Such matters include federal and District regulations related to employment and equal opportunity, scientific research and intellectual property, Title IX compliance, financial aid, property management, contracts and procurement, and many other legal matters.
