University of the District of Columbia President Maurice D. Edington has been named to the Washington Business Journal's inaugural Power 250, which recognizes influential local leaders helping shape the future of the Greater Washington region.
The Power 250 expands the publication's longstanding Power 100 list to recognize a broader group of leaders making a positive impact across the area. Honorees represent a range of industries and sectors, including business, education, health care, technology and community development.
“I'm honored to be recognized alongside so many leaders who share my commitment to moving our region forward,” Edington said. “At UDC, we're focused on delivering on our promise to the District by expanding educational opportunity, serving as a workforce engine for the nation's capital, and strengthening the partnerships that drive innovation and economic growth. This recognition speaks to the important role our university plays in building a stronger future for Washington, D.C., and the communities we serve.”
The Washington Business Journal plans to recognize Power 250 honorees at a reception later in 2026, with additional digital and print coverage in 2027.
