Ahead of the winter weather storm, Mayor Muriel Bowser declared a State of Emergency for the District beginning Friday, Jan 23. Mayor Bowser also declared a snow emergency that will go into Saturday, Jan. 24, and will stay in effect until 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 27.

All administrative and academic offices within the University of the District of Columbia will be closed effective 5 p.m. EST on Friday, Jan. 23, until 9:30 a.m. EST on Tuesday, Jan. 27.

The safety and security of our students, faculty, staff and the broader community remain our top priority. We will continue to provide updates regarding the status of the university’s administrative and academic offices as conditions change.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month—Join Us To Learn More

Breast Cancer Awareness Table

According to the American Cancer Society, breast cancer is the most common cancer diagnosed among U.S. women. It is the second leading cause of death from cancer among women after lung cancer. What else should you know about this terrible disease?

Visit the “Breast Cancer Awareness Table” on Wednesday, October 19, from noon to 2:00 p.m. in the student center to find out. The event will be hosted by University Writer/Editor Priscilla Lalisse-Jespersen and the Office of Marketing and Communications. Lalisse-Jespersen is a breast cancer survivor and the author of “From Paris With Love: A Personal and Supportive Guide to Breast Cancer.”
