UDC Professor Pradeep K. Behera Named American Society of Civil Engineers Fellow

Professor Pradeep K. Behera, Ph.D., PE, F. ASCE, D. WRE—Chair of UDC’s Department of Civil Engineering—has been named an American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) fellow. ASCE—which boasts members from 177 countries and is the oldest engineering society in the United States—honored Dr. Behera for his service to society and accomplishments in the field, including contributions to civil engineering education and water resources engineering. Dr. Behera has been a UDC faculty member since 2005, instrumental in revising the civil engineering curriculum and creating new graduate programs for the University. His work also helped the program earn accreditation from ABET, an accrediting body for engineering programs in the United States. Dr. Behera is a 2018 recipient of the Dr. Marjorie Holloman Parker Distinguished Educator Award from UDC. He has more than 30 years of academic and professional engineering experience in civil engineering education, planning, analysis and design of urban water systems.
