A Message From the Dean of the David A. Clarke School of Law

Twinette L. Johnson, J.D., Ph.D., Dean David A. Clarke School of LawAs we begin a new academic year, my first as Dean of the UDC David A. Clarke School of Law (UDC Law), I am excited to welcome new and returning students. This academic year brings new opportunities to learn, grow, and become connected with your purpose as a member of the next generation of legal advocates.

The faculty, administration, and staff are eager to welcome you, and we look forward to providing you with educational opportunities that include a vast array of courses and programs. We are all committed to providing you with a comprehensive and practical legal education that will prepare you to practice law, promote justice, and change lives.

I encourage you to become a full participant in the UDC Law community. Put your studies first—but also partake in other opportunities that can enhance your academic experience and expose you to the many members of the UDC Law community who support you.

As you begin your semester and continue throughout your legal education, you will appreciate even more the transformative power of the law and how it can be used to bring about a more just and equitable society. As you encounter the rewards and rigors of law school, remember that your success is UDC Law’s success, too. We travel on this journey together, and we all play an integral part in ensuring that success.

I look forward to welcoming you to all the experiences this school year will bring. On behalf of the faculty, administration, and staff, I wish you a productive and prosperous academic year.

Warmest regards,
