The 52nd Northeast Decision Sciences Institute (NEDSI) Conference was held at Crystal Gateway Marriott in Arlington, VA from March 30 to April 1. UDC made history by being the first HBCU to host this international conference. Prior host institutes were the New Jersey Institute of Technology NJIT (2022), Penn State (2021), Bentley University (2020), Penn State (2019) and the University of Rhode Island (2018). During NEDSI 2023 there were over 250 attendees from 127 Universities across the U.S. and abroad (Japan, Taiwan, Canada). Attendees were business school professors, students and industry professionals.

UDC participation in NEDSI 2023:

  •  Conference Chair: Dr. Amit Arora, UDC School of Business and Public Administration

  •  Dr. Lawrence T. Potter Jr., CAO-UDC delivered his welcome remarks at the NEDSI President’s Reception on Thursday, March 30 at 6:30 pm.
  •  Dr. Victor McCrary, VP for Research, UDC chaired a panel titled “Role of Government in Business Resiliency.” Other panelists included Melissa Jenkins, Department of Treasury; Varetta Huggins, Department of Treasury; Denise Baken, Shield Analysis Technology LLC.

UDC Faculty Participation— fourteen papers were presented by UDC faculty.

  • Fourteen SBPA faculty were authors/presenters at the conference: Drs. Anshu Arora, Ravi Chinta, Yolandra Plummer, Mo Sepehri, April Nguyen, Suzan Abed, Aigbe Akhigbe, Tih Koon Tan, Batao Chen, Sergey Ivanov, Julius Anyu, Yiyi Bai, Michael Tannen, Amit Arora
  • Two SEAS faculty were authors/presenters at the conference: Bryan Higgs, Pradeep Behera
