UDC and DC Water Partner to bring economic mobility to DC residents

UDC and DC Water will be partnering on programs and initiatives that will benefit residents in the District. Developing America’s Workforce Nucleus (DAWN) initiative, led by UDC with the District of Columbia Public Schools and the Department of Energy and the Environment (DOEE), brings economic mobility to DC residents. This initiative will enhance the ecosystem in Anacostia, where the overlooked talent of people of color and economically disadvantaged students reside. It will also create a pathway for the communities we serve. The DAWN initiative will prepare Ward 8 students for the STEM field and create a new model for education to be deployed across the country. DC Water and UDC’s partnership will concentrate on solutions that create pathways of opportunities and an equitable workforce and secure our energy future.
