UDC and DC Water Partner to bring economic mobility to DC residents

DC and DC Water will be partnering on programs and initiatives that will benefit DC residents. The Developing America’s Workforce Nucleus (DAWN) initiative, led by UDC with the District of Columbia Public Schools and the Department of Energy and the Environment (DOEE), brings economic mobility to DMV residents. This initiative will enhance the ecosystem in Anacostia, where the overlooked talent of Black, brown and economically disadvantaged students reside. It will also create a pathway for the communities we serve. The DAWN initiative will prepare Ward 8 students for the STEM field and create a new model for education to be deployed across the country.
