Targeted Populations

  • International/Status Holders: ISS advisors assist students with both F-1 and J-1 immigration concerns. CDIMA provides assistance with visa extensions, transfers, and application procedures for admission to the University.
  • Undocumented/Non-status Holders: UDC is committed to providing a safe and supportive environment for its undocumented students. The CDIMA aims to provide guidance, support and resources for students who are DREAMers, DACA recipients, TPS, and political asylum seekers, with or without status. UDC is one of the first HBCUs to admit and grant students access to financial aid regardless of immigration status.
  • LGBTQ/ Non-Binary identifying: Supports students of all sexual orientation & gender identities/expressions and is committed to fostering an LGBTQ+ inclusive climate that educates the UDC campus community through intergroup dialogue, awareness events, community engagement, and national and local partnerships.
    Students may identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer or as demigender, genderqueer, gender non-conforming, non-binary, etc. The CDIMA recognizes that sexual orientation and gender identity are both fluid & expansive.
  • 1st-Generation: Students who are the first in their immediate families to attend a college or university. The CDIMA is committed to providing services and opportunities to improve academic achievement, and increase retention and social integration for 1st-generation students.
