Racquel Brown, Esq. holds a JD and MBA and is a tenured Associate Professor of Law & Ethics in the School of Business and Public Administration at the University of the District of Columbia, and serves as an Adjunct Professor in the David A. Clarke School of Law. She is one of the 2024-2025 Faculty Fellows for the University due to her distinguished evaluations for teaching. For 23 years, she has been practicing and teaching various aspects of business law. She is a member of the New York State Bar Association and once clerked for the South District of Florida Bankruptcy Court Chief Justice; she is also a member of Beta Gamma Sigma International Business Honor Society, and a Distinguished Member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. Notwithstanding her assistance to the Faculty Union, Professor Brown has served on 18 university-wide and school committees, chairing some, and currently serves as the Faculty Advisor to the University of the District of Columbia Entrepreneurship Club.  Additionally, with the creation of her Entrepreneurship Training Program, and through the School of Business’ PATH Grant with the Department of Human Services, she has radically transformed lives changing destinies for many, including some on government assistance to entrepreneurs. She is recognized as among the top 100 Caribbean individuals of Power and influence. For over 20 years, she has continued to achieve distinguished evaluations from students and colleagues for every year she has taught. She is a published legal scholar and commercial author.  Her clients range from non-profit corporations, closed corporations, partnerships, LLCs, small businesses seeking government contracts, and individuals. She specializes in business formations, contracts, commercial law, estate planning, mediation, non-profit law, and real estate. Within that same timeframe, she has served in several roles in Higher Education Administration. She has served as a Student Advisor, Human Resources Director of Staff Relations, and EEOC Officer at both the City University of New York and the District of Columbia Public Schools.  Additionally, she has served as Assistant Dean and later Higher Education Consultant to senior vice presidents and presidents. She has served on non-profit Boards serving veterans, education, and federal female inmates re-transitioning into society. She also donates her time as a pro bono attorney for the most vulnerable in society. Additionally, she takes the fight for social justice through education in Colombia, Brazil, Ghana, and Jamaica.
