Biography

Ravi Chinta is Associate Dean and Professor of Management in the School of Business and Public Administration (SBPA) at the University of the District of Columbia (UDC).  Prior to joining UDC in 2021, he was a faculty member in the Huizenga College of Business and Entrepreneurship at Nova Southeastern University, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.  His main teaching and research areas are strategy, operations and entrepreneurship.

Ravi received a Ph.D. in Strategic Management from the University of Pittsburgh in 1985.  In addition, he received MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta, India in 1977 and B.Tech. in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, India in 1975.  His research is focused on uncovering statistically significant determinants of performance at corporate, divisional, project and process levels. He published over 110 papers in peer-reviewed journals and presented at more than 85 regional, national and international conferences. He has 22 years’ experience in the corporate world with 7 years in the venture capital industry.
