Dr. Aigbe Akhigbe is a Professor of Finance in the School of Business and Public Administration at the University of the District of Columbia (UDC). Prior to joining UDC in 2022, he held full professorship positions at Florida Atlantic University and University of Akron (Moyer endowed chair), visiting faculty at Miami University and an adjunct at University of Central Florida. He is currently involved in research at FDIC as a senior research fellow.

Dr. Akhigbe specializes in teaching all areas of finance.  He is highly committed to excellence in teaching.  He teaches students how to apply financial techniques to real financial and non-financial institutions using databases such as Bloomberg, CRSP, Compustat, Morningstar, and FDIC Call Reports and Federal Reserve Y-9C (BHCK) reports.

Dr. Akhigbe has an extensive record of publishing in leading finance journals, generating over 3,700 citations in Google Scholar. He served on the program committee of finance associations as presenter, discussant, session chair and track chair. He has also served on the editorial boards and as a reviewer for several journals.
