Our Fall Opening Convocation was a wonderful way to launch the academic year. It was inspiring to see our community of students, faculty, staff and families come together to celebrate the spirit of learning and the promise of the months ahead. As October comes to a close, I would like to thank you for the energy, commitment, and enthusiasm you have brought to campus.
I also want to acknowledge the effort and focus that went into the midterm period. This part of the semester can be demanding, and whether you were studying, teaching, grading, or supporting students in other ways, please know that your hard work and dedication are deeply appreciated.
As we turn the corner into November and prepare for an exciting Homecoming week, I encourage you to continue delivering on our shared promises: to advance student success through excellence in teaching and learning; to drive workforce innovation through career training and industry partnerships; and to deepen community impact through research, service and civic engagement. These commitments reflect who we are as a university and our vision to turn potential into power for our students, our city and our region.
Thank you for all you do to make this university a vibrant and intellectually rich place. I am excited to see what we will accomplish together in the weeks ahead.
In Service,
President Maurice D. Edington
