Dr. Wallis Baxter III, Ph.D., is a scholar of African American literature and an educator at the University of the District of Columbia Community College. His work explores themes of prophecy and transformation in Black literature, as seen in his book Phillis Wheatley as Prophetic Poet: You Must Be Born Again (2022). An advocate for culturally responsive pedagogy, Dr. Baxter continues to contribute to literary scholarship and student engagement in English studies.
