Emergency Medical Services

When every second counts, communities rely on skilled, decisive professionals who can deliver immediate life-saving care. UDC’s paramedic program prepares students to meet that challenge with the clinical knowledge, technical expertise and critical thinking skills needed to thrive in high-pressure emergency settings.

As part of the broader Emergency Medical Services (EMS) program, UDC offers multiple educational pathways for students at different stages of their careers. All EMS pathways are grounded in the latest evidence-based practices and emphasize hands-on learning. Students gain real-world experience through skills labs, hospital clinical rotations, and ambulance ride-alongs.

  • Associate of Science in Paramedicine
  • Paramedic Certificate

Program outcome data will be published as cohorts graduate and will include these key performance metrics:

Admission Requirements and How to Apply

To qualify for admission to the community college at UDC, you must first take the Accuplacer test. This is a requirement for all entering students. Program-Specific Admissions Requirements

Additionally, all applicants to the Paramedic certificate or Associate of Science degree programs must hold a valid and current license (and be registered) as an EMT or Advanced EMT (AEMT) with the National Registry. Students will be required to provide a copy of their NREMT certification.
