Aliyah Morris-Chevalier, a very talented student in the art program, has achieved a remarkable victory in the 2024 NBA All-Star x HBCU Student Art Design Showcase. Selected as one of just six finalists from a competitive pool of hundreds, Morris-Chevalier represented the theme HBCU Life with distinction. This accomplishment brought her not only a monetary award but also an all-expenses-paid trip to Indianapolis, Indiana, for an enriching four-day experience.

During her stay, Morris-Chevalier had the opportunity to connect with fellow HBCU student winners, attend the exciting All-Star game, and experience the HBCU Classic basketball game and the State Farm All-Star Game at Lucas Oil Stadium. Her original artwork gained significant recognition, being displayed at prominent locations such as Gainbridge Fieldhouse, Lucas Oil Stadium, the Westin Hotel Conference Hall, and is now a part of the NBA House collection. Additionally, the HBCU student winners participated in the NBA Career Development Workshop, engaging with executives from AT&T and representatives from the NBA and its partners. A highlight of the event was an intimate discussion with Maxwell Pierce, a renowned Globetrotter and multimedia artist, who shared insights into his journey from athletics to art.
