President Edington visits DSAM

UDC President Maurice D. Edington, Ph.D., recently undertook a familiarization visit to the Division of Science and Mathematics, where he conducted a comprehensive examination of the division’s teaching infrastructure, laboratories, and research activities. During this visit, Edington toured the biology, chemistry, and physics laboratory classrooms located in Building 44 to gain an overview of the available physical infrastructure for teaching purposes. Additionally, he visited the biology and chemistry research facilities, engaging with researchers and staff to discuss their ongoing projects. Edington also took the time to interact with undergraduate students in Building 32, showing a keen interest in their research endeavors and academic pursuits. Throughout the visit, the division showcased a range of sophisticated equipment and technologies, underscoring the university’s commitment to offering students a world-class learning environment. Edington expressed admiration for the dedication and passion demonstrated by both faculty and students, highlighting the crucial role of such research in advancing scientific knowledge and enhancing student enrollment and retention at UDC.
