Maria Byrd
Vice President for Innovation and Transformation
On January 20, 2016, the University of the District of Columbia’s Office of Planning and Institutional Effectiveness was established with Maria Byrd leading the division. Byrd spent five years in the Office of Information Technology as the Project Management Unit Manager and was instrumental in the launch of the University’s myUDC portal. She also oversaw the operations for the Banner ERP and managed the division’s budget.
Byrd received her Master’s in Public Administration from American University and her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Hofstra University. Prior to coming to UDC, Byrd served with both the District of Columbia Government and private industry.
Senai Simon
Assistant Director, Capabilities and Process Management
On October 31, 2015, Senai Simon was tapped to serve as the Assistant Director of Capabilities and Process Management in the Office of Planning and Institutional Effectiveness. Simon previously served as Associate Database Administrator in the Office of Information Technology where he managed the databases supporting the newly implemented Recruiter CRM.
