Elaina HundleyFirebirds, my name is Elaina Hundley. I completed my Bachelor’s Degree in Literature at American University and shortly thereafter worked as a Program Assistant to a student driven program called Peer Advising at AU. I am committed to Higher Education because I view education as a truly empowering tool, I believe wholeheartedly that knowledge is power, and I believe that with the right resources, hard work, and positivity any student can achieve their goals. In my spare time, I love to write, read, shop for vintage clothes, gaze at my potted plants, and drink far too much coffee. I look forward to assisting each of you in setting, pursuing, and eventually achieving your short-term and long-term educational goals this year!

Tesfaye YehualashetHello fellow Firebirds! My name is Tesfaye Yehualashet; I joined the Academic Advising Center (AAC) family during the Fall of 2013. I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from University of the District of Columbia. During my undergraduate years, I participated in athletics, student employment, and various professional development activities. I enjoy working with a variety of students and look forward to helping you grow and challenge yourselves. In addition, I look forward to hearing your stories, goals, and aspirations as you work towards a college degree. Outside of the office, I enjoy spending time with my family, playing sports such as soccer and football, cooking, listening to music, and exploring new things in life.

Janice JacksonMy name is Janice Jackson.  I was born in Washington, DC, and earned my BA in English composition from Beloit College in WI.  I earned a master’s degree in education from Howard University, and I earned my MBA and doctorate in business administration from the U. of Memphis. My career as a college business professor and consultant has involved me not only in teaching various management, finance, statistics, and business communication courses, but also in many years of academic advising and department level management.

Having emptied my nest, I was semi-retired for two years doing some consulting and tutoring primarily in business, writing, and statistics.   However, a year ago, I found myself thrust back in the role of parenting for my 8-year-old grandson.  So, I am now enjoying being back in academia full-time as an academic advisor at UDC.

Kenno TelfaireHello fellow Firebirds, I am Mr. Kenno Telfaire. I received my BS in Industrial Technology with a concentration in Graphic Communications from North Carolina A&T State University and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. For the past ten years I have worked in education as a high school technology teacher, as a department chair, and as a college advisor with a focus in college retention. In addition to helping students reach their goals of college graduation, I am a huge sports fan; I enjoy reading, watching movies, and spending time with my wife and daughter.
