UDC partners with Xcelerate Solutions to expand career opportunities for students

WASHINGTON – The University of the District of Columbia (UDC) has formed a new paid internship partnership with Xcelerate Solutions, a management and information technology solutions provider for the federal government. The partnership will strengthen the experiential learning and employment pipeline for students and alumni pursuing careers in governmental consultancy.

As detailed in the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed December 25, 2021, UDC and Xcelerate Solutions will collaborate to advance higher learning for students and alumni through paid internships and full-time job opportunities. Staff and faculty from both organizations will work jointly on connecting and interviewing students for these career opportunities.

The partnership has already led to the employment of a UDC graduate in national security.

“In furthering our commitment to supporting colleges and universities throughout the United States (U.S.), our partnership with UDC aligns with our core values of ‘Embracing Cultural Diversity’ and ‘Hiring One More Like Our Best,’” said Xcelerate Solutions President and CEO Mark Drever. “We are extremely grateful and excited to have an opportunity to work with a university that is focused on providing quality education and enriching the lives of their students, neighbors and stakeholders. As Xcelerate Solutions continues to grow their portfolio of programs, UDC will be an exceptional partner in helping to develop and foster the future leaders of the federal consulting community.”

This partnership supports UDC’s ongoing commitment to producing lifelong learners who are transformative leaders in the workforce, government, nonprofit sectors and beyond. The University’s Office of Career Services within the Division of Student Development and Success initiated the MOU, and the Office will remain instrumental in its ongoing coordination.

“We are thrilled to be working with Xcelerate Solutions to connect well-prepared and talented UDC students and alumni with these exciting career opportunities,” said UDC’s Executive Director of Career Services, Dr. Jared E. Moffett, D.B.H. “As a public HBCU, ensuring that our graduates are career-ready and competitive for employment opportunities is a priority.”
