The AUC Data Science Seminar Series will feature Dr. Victor McCrary who will share insights on “How the Government is Advancing Data Science Research” at 12:00 pm ET on Friday, September 10th.

Speaker: Dr. Victor McCrary, Vice President for Research and Graduate Programs at the University of the District of Columbia (the only public HBCU in DC) and Vice Chair of the National Science Board – NSF (appointed by Barack Obama)

About: Many governmental agencies support research in data science to develop advancements for the greater good. What funding opportunities are available to faculty and graduate students? What are various agencies’ current and future areas of focus in data science research? From a broad governmental perspective, Dr. Victor McCrary will share insights on how our nation creates innovations in data science research and how you can tap into these resources.

The Student Data Science Symposium will be held on Friday, September 24th, and will feature student speakers and opportunities for students to engage with industry professionals. All student registrants will be asked to upload a resume that will be shared with potential employers.
