Fall 2022 Opening & Enrollment Incentives

Now that you are vaccinated (or soon will be), UDC is looking forward to seeing you on campus Fall 2022. We have prepared the facilities and will be following all local and federal health guidance.

UDC offers quality curricula; supportive professors; flexible schedules; a diverse student body; a vibrant location; career opportunities; and affordable tuition. For all Fall 2022 degree seeking applicants, UDC is extending the following incentives:  

  • Application Fee Waived
  • Free Tuition* (Last Dollar, Need-Based)
  • Up to $1,500 Scholarship (Need-Based) Fall 2022 & Spring 2023 Semesters
  • Free books (Fall 2022 & Spring 2023) semesters
  • Free Microsoft Surface Go Laptop

* After Federal student aid, institutional scholarships and external resources are confirmed.

Step 2: Have Your High School Email Your Transcript to udctranscores@udc.edu

Step 3*: Upload Proof of Immunizations (Including COVID Vaccination or Medical/Religious Exemption), https://www.udc.edu/health-services/immunizations/

*Spring 2022 applicants may also receive these incentives if your application and supporting documents are received by December 3, 2021.

**This step will need to be completed immediately upon admission.  If you plan to take all of your fall classes remotely, the COVID vaccine requirement will be waived for the fall term.

 

FAQ’s

How do I apply for free tuition last dollar need based scholarship?

All eligible students are required to complete a 2021-2022 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), www.fafsa.gov and include our school code 007015.  If you need assistance with completing your FAFSA, we are here to help!  Virtual FAFSA completion assistance is available through our community partner, the Educational Opportunity Center.  Schedule your appointment by calling (202) 741-4730.

PELL, SEOG and Institutional Scholarship Recipients

All Pell/SEOG eligible students will automatically be considered for a last dollar tuition scholarship. The last dollar need based scholarship will cover any remaining balance (before loans) after your grant aid and scholarships (DCUP, University Foundation etc.) are applied.

Federal (Subsidized, Unsubsidized, PLUS Loans) and Private Loan Only Aid Recipients

You will automatically be considered after the application of your loan aid. Please note that students are expected to accept sufficient aid to cover their balance. The last dollar, need based scholarship will be applied after loan proceeds have applied. Note: Loans require 6crs enrollment, Master Promissory Note and Loan Entrance Counseling, www.studentloans.gov.

I am not eligible for Pell/SEOG Grants or Scholarships. I am only receiving a loan award. Can I apply for last dollar, need based scholarship?

If there is a remaining fall 2021 or spring 2022 balance after your grant and scholarship aid has disbursed, the last dollar scholarship proceeds will be applied.  Please note that students are expected to accept sufficient aid to cover their balance. I am not eligible to complete a FAFSA. Can I receive last dollar, need based scholarship assistance?

Yes, but you will be required to complete an application and provide supporting documentation.   Application link will be posted on this page by Friday, September 17,2021 through Friday, September 24, 2021.

I have a full scholarship. Can I receive last dollar, need based scholarship assistance?

Scholarship coverage varies.  If your scholarship does not cover your standard fees (excluding health insurance), a last dollar scholarship will be applied.

How do apply for $1,000 need based scholarship per semester?

All Pell/SEOG eligible students will automatically be considered for a need based scholarship up to $1,000 to assist with personal expenses.  The awarding scale will be contingent upon your Expected Family Contribution (EFC). This will be issued to you in the form of a refund check in mid-September.

How do I receive my books?
How do I receive my Surface Go Laptop?

Students who were admitted and accepted their offer of admission by August 9th received an email from enrollmentservices@udc.edu which included an acknowledgement of responsibility agreement.  Students who met the August 13, 2021 deadline laptops will be mailed to your address on file by the first week of classes.  Students who did not meet the deadline and/or were admitted after August 9th will need to email Enrollment Services, enrollmentservices@udc.edu to make arrangements to pick up their laptop.
