CAS Reads Big Welcomes Bernice L. McFadden | Thursday, March 25th @ 6pm | Virtual Event

Please join the College of Arts and Sciences for its Spring 2021 CAS Reads Big, featuring critically acclaimed writer Bernice L. McFadden, author of Praise Song for the Butterflies, a tale of ritual servitude in contemporary West Africa. Ms. McFadden is the author of The Book of Harlanwinner of the 2017 American Book Award and the 2017 NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Literary Work. She has authored eight other critically acclaimed novels including SugarLoving DonovanGathering of Waters (a New York Times Editors’ Choice pick and one of the 100 Notable Books of 2012), and Glorious (which was featured in O, The Oprah Magazine and was a finalist for the NAACP Image Award). She is a four-time Hurston/Wright Legacy Award finalist, as well as the recipient of three awards from the Black Caucus of the American Library Association, Inc. (BCALA). Praise Song for the Butterflies is her latest novel.
