UDC Opening ON TIME – Thursday, February 21, 2019 (All Campuses)

In the event of a weather emergency, the University of the District of Columbia has developed an emergency notification plan that utilizes multiple methods of communication.  UDC operating status will be broadcast by local/social media, the University’s website, and shared text and email.

To receive text notifications, you must register for LiveSafe. You can register by using your Smart Phone or go to https://www.udc.edu/public-safety/livesafe/ for downloading instructions. Please note that it can take up to 24 hours for your LiveSafe registration to be processed.

Following are several suggestions to ensure that you receive accurate and up-to-date information:

  • Register for LiveSafe for text notification of operating status information.
  • Visit the University’s “School Closings/Delays” page for general information and for any specific updates. https://www.udc.edu/marketing-communications/closings-delays/
  • Log into My UDC and Blackboard for more information when/if closing occurs.
  • Students, please be prepared to participate in the alternate instructional activities planned by your professors/instructional staff when circumstances prevent on-campus/face-to-face instruction. If you have questions about instructional continuity in your classes, please directly contact each of your professors. (Every course syllabus should include relevant attendance and instructional continuity policies. If you have not received one, please be sure to request it before needed.)

In addition, you can obtain updated information on the University’s operating status by calling 202-274-5050.
