AVIATION MAINTENANCE MANAGEMENT (AVMM)
The third aviation instructional program is an advanced program in Aviation Maintenance Management.It builds on the Associate Degree requirements, and prepares the student for a Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Aviation Maintenance Management (Airway Science).This BS degree program in Aviation Maintenance Management is FAA approved and meets the standards of the University Aviation Association.The BS degree program is organized to function as a "two-plus-two" program, to provide the opportunity to attain an AAS degree within two years, and subsequently complete the BS degree by successfully completing two additional years.The areas of concentration for this degree include advanced aviation technical courses, interdisciplinary aviation courses, computer science and systems courses, business management courses, as well as UDC degree requirements in other arts, sciences, and social sciences. FAA certification of the student as an Airframe and Power plant Mechanic is a desired part of the BS degree requirements. The Bachelor of Science degree in Aviation Maintenance Management offers a very challenging course sequence, and can produce a comprehensively prepared candidate for a technical management position in the aviation maintenance field.
