Washington, DC - The University of the District of Columbia had a significant presence at the yearly Congressional Black Caucus gala September 24th at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. University officials took the opportunity to speak with influential members of Congress about the status of Washington, DC’s only public university. Vice President for Government Relations Aimee Occhetti and Associate Vice President for Advancement John Butler got some serious face time with the Chairman of the CBC, Congressman Emanuel Cleaver of Missouri, Georgia Congressman John Lewis, and others.
